Natural Ways To Deal With Stress

Stress is something I’m sure all of us deal with either on a daily, weekly, monthly or rare basis. If you’re like me and stress about nearly everything…these tips are for you! It’s not good to always feel worrisome and overwhelmed – try something down below and see if it helps!

Eucalyptus

Trader Joe’s sells Eucalyptus in bundles for very inexpensive. I’d say I spent under $5 for mine! I love to tie it up in a hot shower to clear my sinuses + makes me feel super calm.

Essential Oils

So many people have found a remedy for their stress by using essential oils. Personally, I haven’t explored them enough to be an expert but I have tried a few like lavender that have definitely helped me feel less-annoyed and concentrated on my day.

Honey & Bananas

Bananas are known to have something called tryptophan. This protein gets converted in the body to serotonin which helps you relax and feel overall more content. I eat a banana in the morning almost every day just to keep my mood going in the right direction.

Honey mixed with chamomile tea before bed has also helped aid my stress. A teaspoon is just enough to get myself in a calm state. Not entirely sure if honey is scientifically proven to have anti-anxiety/stress-free benefits but it sure works for me.

Running

Cardio is hardio, we all know this. But there’s something about running a mile or two that just makes me feel 10x better about whatever is going on in my life. When you exercise, your moving your body and focusing on that, nothing else. It’s calming when you’ve only got one thing to focus on!

Breathing Techniques & Meditation

Taking a few deep breaths or spending some time alone can help you sort out your thoughts on a personal level. I like taking a couple of minutes to unplug from my surroundings and just be.

Indulge

There’s nothing wrong with giving yourself a little bit of something good when you’re overwhelmed. Find a healthy snack that you love and can go-to when you need to calm down.

Listening To Soothing Sounds

Take a walk outside or use a sound machine and listen to soothing chirps, waves, or rain. There are even a few apps out there that can bring the outdoors to you!

Declutter

I’ve found a lot of comfort in decluttering my home lately. Removing items that I have no use for anymore and reorganizing really helps clear my mind. This is perfect to do on a cold winter day too!

Taking A Bath

Find the time to treat yourself by taking a long, hot, bath. I’ll light a few candles and prep my tub with some of my favorite bubble bath – always makes me feel less stressed and relaxed.

Himalayan Salt Lamps

I’m sure most of you have heard of these beauties before. The negative salt ions that are produced under heat from the lamp can boost blood flow, calm allergies, and improve sleep. I keep one right next to my bed and turn it on when I start my night routine.

5 Ways To Slay 2018

Over the weekend I came to the realization that I’ve just got, for lack of a better term, a lot of crap going on. And not in the good type of way where I’m doing a million things I love, more like there are so many things still in the way from last year that I need to get rid of. Bad habits, procrastination, and so many other things have got to go!

Below are a few easy ways you can make changes this January without spending too much time or effort! Read on for more!

Clear The Email

The holidays have got me slacking and slacking hard. Today I looked at my email and saw the number…753. Like what?! Take a few minutes everyday to purge unwanted memos or subscriptions from your inbox. You could even go as far as categorizing the important emails into folders but that’s up to you! You’ll feel 10x better after that mail icon has no numbers next to it.

Yoga

I’ve been totally on edge lately and extremely stressed out. But working my body and staying active has helped balance out those crazy days.

Pick up some cheap yoga equipment at Target or Amazon and get going. The focus on breathing and controlled movements will take your mind off of whatever else is happening in your life. It’s helped me loads!

Give Up Your Addiction

Okay, addiction can mean a lot of things to many people but for me, my “addiction” was coffee. Now I’m not saying I gave up coffee all together but I’ve definitely cut down since beginning the 1st day of the year.

Instead, find a healthier, wiser, or more productive alternative to whatever your go-to may be. It doesn’t have to be a permanent switch, just an experiment to see if your quality of life changes!

Go To The Doctor

I recently had to get over my fear of hospitals and doctors when I went in for strep last week. It sucked but I learned a lot about myself from the experience. Sounds silly, but most of us don’t go to the doctor until something is wrong. I encourage all of you to visit your family doctor on a regular basis! You’ll feel better afterwards and may find out things you were oblivious to!

Change Things You Don’t Like

This year, I have no patience for negativity and unnecessary drama. If someone or something is causing you stress and anxiety…drop it from your life!

I hope these tips help you in some way! They’re already part of my daily routine! If you have an idea to add to this list, leave it in a comment down below – I’d love to hear how your New Year is going!

How I Made My First $1,000 Blogging

This first year of blogging has been incredible, a learning process for sure full of unforgettable opportunities. Throughout this journey, I’ve been lucky enough to make a few extra dollars doing the thing I love most. This post will focus on how I’ve made an income while blogging and how you can too!

Reach Out To Brands

This is first on the list because truly I wouldn’t be making anything or receiving any free product without reaching out to brands myself. Up and coming companies are in need of people to show off their product. These brands need you as much as you need them. I’d say I’ve spent about an hour each day emailing, messaging, and calling the companies I’d be honored to work with. It’s not easy and I’ve been pushed out of my comfort zone more than I can count on one hand…even two! For every 9 no’s I get at least 1 yes which just proves I’m doing something right by putting myself out there!

In the beginning, don’t be discouraged if brands would rather collaborate on posts in exchange for product rather than payment. Establishing a connection with the company can be much more rewarding and beneficial in the grand scheme of things. Brands want to develop a trust with the people they work with and I don’t blame them! I’ve tested the waters with many companies that have now allowed me to create content on a long-term basis for real money. It’s all about proving yourself and selling the services you can provide.

Download Apps To Make Connections

I think a handful of bloggers forget about accessible free apps that can help them grow! For instance, I’ve made a few good paychecks off of apps likePopular Pays which connects Instagrammers and bloggers with real-deal brands. Companies such as Kraft, Macy’s, Chameleon Cold-Brew and so many more are listed on the app.

Once you find a brand you’d like to work with you pitch a creative idea to them, request the amount of money you’d like to make, and answer a couple of questions regarding your social platform. From there, the brands can choose to work with you or not. The process is easy and completely cost-free to the influencers!

Some other great apps and networks include SocialNative.com, Obvious.lyMaverick.co + Collabor8, and Influenster.

Establish A “Blogger Resume”

This is more of a tip but I’d highly recommend creating a blogger resume. A single document or media kit that can be sent out to potential partners and companies is important! Some things I’ve included in mine are my contact information, a collection of my best photos or written pieces, my analytics from my social platforms, and a professional photo of myself with a description of what I do best! This goes along again with…selling yourself!

Use Affiliate Links

The last and final thing I did over this last year to make my first $1,000 was using affiliate links. You can do this easily by signing up online with some of the brands you may already know and love! Personally, I’ve found the biggest return by using affiliate links through Target and Amazon. You basically earn a percentage of the purchase someone would make by using your link!

The appReward Style also does an awesome job of simplifying the affiliate link process by putting everything you’d need in one place. You can easily search for a product and see what percentage you’d make if someone bought the product using your link, you can copy links, and keep track of your commission!

So that’s the jist of it guys! 2018 is near and now is the perfect time to make some financial moves! If you have any suggestions that I didn’t mention in this post – please leave a comment down below!
