Things You Need When You’re Sick

It must be those Spring allergies because everyone is getting a case of the sniffles. Regardless if you’re on bed rest or fighting off a cold, I’ve got some tips sure to make you feel just a little bit better this season. Speaking of, I’m on day 4 of my own little battle. So, let’s dive into some easy ways we can get over this stuff fast..


The obvious and most known trick to curing your body is to drink lots of liquids. Water my friends. Orange juice is said to be the go-to beverage during sick days but that is a huge myth. Juice of any kind tends to have high sugar content which won’t boost your immune system but rather shut it down. Forget that stuff and trade in a cup of OJ for a hot cup of tea or room temp bottled water.

Keeping Warm 

Does anyone else get the chills when they’re feeling under the weather? The only thing I want to do is curl up in a ball and stay in bed. Try picking up a heated blanket to keep you cozy and comfortable. If you’re the opposite of this, wrap a bag of frozen peas in a pillow case to keep you cool.

Binge Those Shows 

There’s nothing more satisfying than diving into a new series with multiple seasons available to watch. Keep watching girl, you deserve it. Some of my favs on Netflix and Hulu have been Riverdale, BlackMirror, Dance Moms, Shameless, Handmaid’s Tale, and of course Orange Is The New Black (which I’ve been rewatching religiously to catch up for the new season).

Order In The Food 

Forget cooking at home and order in your favorite comfort foods. Uber Eats and Post Mates have been life savers for me lately. Soup from Panera? Yes, please. Take advantage of those services when you’re laid up in the house and don’t wanna move.

Bubble Baths 

Sweat out your yuckyness in a bath full of bubbles. The warm water will relax your body, clear your sinuses, and make you feel refreshed. Treat yourself with some candles and bath bombs if you have them. A bath cocktail for one makes the troubles go down the drain.

Sleep It Away

Finally, sometimes all you need is a good nap. Don’t underestimate the power of some sleepy time. If you need it, you need it.
