Positivity: Things To Be Mindful Of

We all have bad days, there’s no denying that. I’m sure we’ve all started our morning off on the wrong side of the bed. I’m sure sometimes we don’t even want to get out of bed (me every time I need to wake up remotely early).

Even on my worst days, I try to keep these things in mind.

You’re Not Perfect:

I catch myself starting the day off on the wrong foot due to blaming myself for things I can’t control. I like to remind myself, “I am human” and we all make mistakes no matter how hard we try not to. Take time to reflect and congratulate yourself regularly on what you’ve achieved, not what you haven’t.

It’s Okay To Think About Yourself:

A majority of my bad days pay tribute to thinking about others more than I do myself. I catch myself doing this habit more times than not and it is beyond frustrating. I’m a firm believer in making sure I’m okay before anyone else.

Recently, I’ve tried making more of an effort towards “me time”. This could be anything from grabbing my favorite coffee or making sure I get into the gym daily. These little activities bring my mood back to where it needs to be.

Confidence Is Key:

Don’t let other people’s bad vibes kill yours. Set an example at home, school, or your workplace by showing extreme confidence and courage when taking on your day. Smiling, greeting your peers or coworkers, giving compliments, all of these things scream positivity. It doesn’t hurt to spread some of it around.

Tomorrow Is A New Day:

At the end of a hard day, it’s always motivating to remember tomorrow is a new one. I find comfort each evening knowing my attitude is a reflection of what I’m feeling and that I’m in control of my own happiness.

If you’re feeling stuck or in a rut, find out why and re-evaluate or regroup yourself. If you aren’t, spread some of that positivity around. It’s contagious.
